Leah J. Brooks is an attorney specializing in oil and gas law, renewable energy law, and real estate law.
Mrs. Brooks is a graduate of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, who, prior to becoming an associate at Loomis, worked for Field Law Group, PLLC. While specializing in public utility and energy law, she helped grow the firm's practice in renewable and alternative energy, served as a Special Assistant Attorney General, and worked on a number of power supply cost recovery and reconciliation cases before the Michigan Public Service Commission. Mrs. Brooks previously served as a legal intern for the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality where she worked closely with the Chief Administrative Law Judge and served as a member of the Governor's Energy Roadmap team, working with the Governor's Energy Advisor on renewable and alternative energy projects.
Prior to law school, Mrs. Brooks worked at Loomis as the firm's assistant bookkeeper, as well as the accounts manager for one of the firm's senior partners. She worked on a number of corporate and business matters, managed the assets and investments of several clients, and gained experience with corporations and partnerships.
